Technology at Gabriel Richard

High-quality classrooms must find innovative and authentic ways to integrate student use of technology in a way that fosters a positive and strong digital learning environment.

Gabriel Richard Catholic High School is committed to the continuous improvement of technology to support our mission of educating our students.  Our vision is to integrate digital literacy as a means of providing and enhancing opportunities for independent and collaborative analysis, applied learning and global interaction.

At Gabriel Richard, we continuously evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance our ability to provide a comprehensive education.  Each year, we invest in upgrades and maintenance, including the implementation of Chromebooks as part of our 1:1 technology program, wireless Internet service throughout the school, and enhancements to classroom presentation technology.  Nearly 100 computer workstations are available for student use in our computer lab and library, and our classrooms are equipped with SMART Boards and audio systems.

Our high-speed, wireless Internet is available to all students with parental permission and is filtered to reduce the risk of inadvertently accessing objectionable content.  Software includes Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Bridge).  Gabriel Richard also maintains a subscription to FACTS SIS to communicate homework assignments and grades to parents and students.
