Admissions for International Students

 

At Gabriel Richard, our international students are a vibrant part of our school community.  We believe that having a global perspective helps enrich the lives of all who attend GR by providing intercultural communication, diversity and cultural understanding.

APPLYING

Prospective international students must meet our school's admission criteria, as well as Archdiocese of Detroit (AOD)  policies.  All students must demonstrate English proficiency requirements.  

APPLICATION DEADLINES

International students entering grades 9 - 11 may apply for admission to Gabriel Richard.  Per AOD guidelines, we are unable to accept applications for admission/transfer into 12th grade. 

 

Students applying for transfer must be in good academic and F-1 immigration standing.

Fall Admission:  All materials including application, proof of English language proficiency, valid academic transcripts (translated in English), and proof of financial stability showing the family is able to pay for one year's tuition, room and board, must be submitted by May 15.

Mid-Year Admission:  Students transferring from within the United States from a SEVP-certified school may be considered for mid-year admission.  Initial-start applicants may not apply for mid-year start.  All materials must be submitted by October 15 for consideration.

Gabriel Richard currently partners with Foreign Links Around The Globe (FLAG) for international student admission.  FLAG is an accredited, non-profit organization that promotes and supports global understanding through international educational travel.  For more information about FLAG, please call (800) 942-3524 (FLAG).
