Information for Graduates and Parents

 

Graduation from high school is an important milestone in life.  The following is information about the many activities and functions in the final weeks before graduation from Gabriel Richard Catholic High School.

 

Senior Dates

Caps and gowns will be distributed on Monday, May 13, during graduation practice.  All fines, fees, dues and tuition must be paid by Monday, May 6, in order for seniors to receive their caps and gowns.  

Senior detentions must be served by Thursday, May 9.  Senior lockers must be emptied by Friday, May 10.  

Senior book buy-back will take place on Wednesday, May 15 from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the band room.  You must have your printed buy-back quote from MBS Direct.

 

Senior Exams

The senior exam schedule is as follows:

Monday, May 13

7:40 a.m. - 8:55 a.m.    Period A

(This is a full day of school)

Tuesday, May 14

7:40 a.m. - 8:55 a.m.    Period B

9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.  Period C

Wednesday, May 15

7:40 a.m. - 8:55 a.m.    Period D

9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.  Period E

Thursday, May 16

7:40 a.m. - 8:55 a.m.    Period F

9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.  Period G

Seniors must observe the dress code in order to take their exams.  Monday, May 13 will be a full day of school.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, seniors are expected to leave the building after their exams because school is still in session for the underclassmen. Those seniors who wish to remain after their exams are to remain in the cafeteria.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

The AP exams schedule is as follows:

Students taking AP exams must report to the designated testing area 30 minutes before the official starting time for the test.  Students will be dismissed when testing is complete.

Graduation Practice

Graduation practice will take place on Monday, May 13.  Practice is scheduled for 8:59 a.m.  All seniors must attend the practice.  Any senior who is disruptive will not participate in graduation.  Your cooperation and adherence to directions will ensure a smooth and shorter practice.

Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Honors

The Gabriel Richard Catholic High School Baccalaureate Mass is on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at St. Cyprian Church in Riverview.  Mass begins at 2 p.m.  Appropriate dress is required.  All Gabriel Richard staff, students are parents are welcome to attend.

Graduation/Honors:  Graduation from high school is a ceremony that takes place once in a person's lifetime.  We attempt to make it as dignified and meaningful as possible.  We ask for your cooperation in helping us to make graduation a special experience.  Graduation is Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the gymnasium.  Seniors are to arrive no later than 6:30 p.m.  The ceremony begins at 7 p.m.

Dress code:  Gentlemen should wear dress shirt and pants, dress shoes (not sandals or athletic shoes) and dress socks.  Ladies should wear a knee-length dress or skirt with blouse.

Note:  Caps and gowns are not to be decorated.

Seniors will receive their diplomas immediately after the ceremony from their senior advisors.
